To dispute a Walmart deduction: identify the deduction code from your remittance, gather the required proof of delivery (POD), bill of lading (BOL), and invoice, file the dispute via APDP in Retail Link, respond to supplier action requests within 7 days, and track the claim until payment.
Find the deduction
Locate the deduction notice on your Walmart payment remittance. Note the 2-digit reason code, the dollar amount deducted, and the associated purchase order and invoice numbers.
Read the code
Look up the specific Walmart deduction code to determine what the charge represents and whether it relates to shortages, concealed damage, pricing discrepancies, or compliance fines.
Gather the documents
Collect the required backup evidence before submitting. For shortages, retrieve the carrier's signed proof of delivery (POD) with legible piece counts and the corresponding bill of lading (BOL).
File in APDP
Access Accounts Payable Dispute Portal (APDP) within Walmart Retail Link. Create a new dispute, input the invoice details, and attach all verified evidence.
Respond to supplier action requests
If Walmart reviews the claim and updates the status to "Supplier Action," review their comments and submit the requested clarification or additional documentation within Walmart's required 7-day response window.
Track to payment
Monitor the dispute status in APDP. Standard Walmart APDP reviews take between 60 and 75 days. Approved disputes result in a credit memo applied to a future check.
